Pretty Doesn’t Hide Stupid

When you’re dating someone, the last thing you want to admit is what a total moron they are. This is particularly true if the sex is great, he or she is really pretty to look at or they offer to pay for dinner at least 80 percent of the time. Then, it’s pretty easy to overlook flaws.

Like say she doesn’t get your jokes and is obsessed with her cat or he has bad breath and refers to himself in third person. Obviously, these aren’t ideal characteristics, but they may not be deal breakers either. I mean, we categorically tend to put up with a lot of shit when pretty people want to give us good sex.

But of course, that only last so long before you realize no amount of good nookie is worth putting up with this person’s shit. Usually you have an “Ah Ha!” moment when you realize it just won’t work. Here, people describe the very second they realized their other half was a total idiot and it couldn’t be ignored any longer.

Seeing The World In Different Colors

Color Blindness is hard to understand if you aren’t actually color blind yourself. I mean, trying to describe color to someone is actually a very challenging feat. Color can’t be felt or smelled or tasted. If you were to explain to a blind person what a banana is, they could at least smell, feel, and taste the banana so even if they couldn’t conjure up a picture of a it, they would still have some concept of what it looked like compared to, say, an apple or a grape. The thing with objects is that they are relative to one another so there’s a distinct comparison a person can make among tangible items, even if they can’t see them.

Color is different. Color describes how something looks and that is a bit harder to get a grasp of because it is completely separate from shape, lines, functionality. If you are born with a condition that doesn’t allow you to see things the way most people see things, it can be very hard to come to an agreement of what that thing looks like, like a sunset. And color-blindness isn’t uncommon. Men are substantially more likely to carry the gene than women and there are actually different kinds of color-blindness. Who knew? While normal people will probably never fully grasp what the world of a color-blinded person looks like, here is a glimpse into the world of people who suffer from the condition and an understanding of how different there view of the world is compared to ours.

Organic: all hype or totally valid?

While some food definitely is worth putting that extra money into buying organic, some foods it may not be worth.
