Being Offended

We are certainly living in an interesting time. While our country is no stranger to polarized social, political, and economic views and upheaval, recent events have caused a divisiveness American hasn’t seen in quite some time.

But whatever side of the political spectrum you lean toward, there does seem to be a consistent outcry of people being offended. Whether you are offended by Starbucks Christmas cups, cultural appropriation, football players kneeling or sexist jokes, there is no shortage of people being offended by something and, quite frankly, it’s getting a little old.

Of course, certain things are more important than others, but there is no denying that, regardless of your party affiliation, we’ve become a bunch of whiny crybabies who would rather bitch about everything than try and find a way to resolve it.

On a more lighthearted note, this comedian pokes fun at all of the crybabies of the world that are offended by everything. It’s a refreshing break from the serious undertone of drama currently guiding our country’s rhetoric. Watch the video here

Me, My Selfie, and I

Selfies are all the rage and even though the word itself makes me want to cringe every time I hear it, I can’t deny that I’ve participated in my fair share of them. Obviously, it’s better if you can get someone else to take the picture because — let’s be honest — the farther away the camera is, the less chance of it picking up on that unsightly zit or those crows feet around your eyes. As a general rule, the closer the camera is to your face, the more your flaws are going to show, so unless you have Jennifer Lopez’s skin, I highly recommend at least being a few feet away. Or you’re just one confident person and I salute your fearlessness. The good news with selfies is that you have the option of deleting and re-snapping them to your heart’s content. Hell, it could take 30 tries before you get the perfect one and even then you usually end up filtering the shit out of it, so you end up posting a picture on Instagram that looks nothing like you. When you get other people to take them, you really don’t want to bother asking them to take a bunch at different angles because… who the hell wants to be THAT person?

This is why it’s good to have a few tricks up your sleeve for that perfect, flawless shot. In-Style gives their must-dos on creating the perfect picture. Every. Single. Time. Read more here
