Divorcing with Style
It’s depressing to say, but divorce is a part of life (and probably just a little too common). Despite how often it happens, people still tend to be embarrassed when admitting they are part of the 51% who have gone through it.
It makes sense. Divorce is seen as a sign of failure and nobody wants to fail. Granted, it shouldn’t be seen as such — divorce only means that you believed in love, gave it your all, and it just didn’t work out. Nothing wrong with that. It’s kind of what happened when I tried skateboarding (Ok, that was a bad analogy, but you get my drift).
What you can fail at when it comes to divorce is how you handle it. It’s one thing to be upset, hurt, or even angry. It’s quite another to go batshit crazy and try to ruin the other person’s life because you believe they ruined yours.
Now, there isn’t necessarily a right or wrong way to handle a divorce, but you certainly can make it go just a little smoother than people expect. Here are 17 ways you can handle that shit like a BOSS and move on to find the person you were REALLY meant to be with… or not, cuz there certainly are some benefits of being on your own.
We’ve all heard the phrase, “Men are from Mars, women are from Venus.” and know what it means — our sex is right, the other sex is wrong. Men and women have their differences and as much as we would like to consider ourselves even, there are certain things men tend to be better at and other things in which women excel.
We have a tendency to think of women as better communicators, more talkative, more emotionally driven, etc. (I left out the term “bitchy” because I don’t need to wake up tomorrow morning with a bunch of hate mail from bitchy women.)
Conversely, we tend to think of men as problem solvers, sexually and rationally-driven, less talkative, etc. (I left out the term “assholes” because I don’t need to wake up tomorrow morning with a bunch of hate mail from asshole men.)
But there are certain traits each sex has that we’re not cognitively aware of. Little, biological nuances that we deal with on a daily basis and probably had no idea existed.
