Sharing Is Not Caring

‘Tis the season. No, I’m not talking about the holiday season with pretty white lights, apple-cinnamon smells wafting through the air, and holiday music playing in every store. I’m talking about the dreaded cold and flu season. It’s not a season to be celebrated, but rather a time to be cautious. Over the past few weeks, I’ve encountered, witnessed and tried to avoid quite a bit of sickness. Can you believe I even saw a guy who worked at the grocery store coughing while stocking spinach, so much for being one of the healthiest leafy greens. As I walked by him pushing my grocery cart, I asked if he was ok, but I think he was so sick his ears were clogged shut because he just stared at me with a blank look as I walked by. No, I didn’t buy any spinach that day.

It wouldn’t be the “season of the sickly” without poking a little fun at the ones running to the store loading up on cough medicine. Some people can handle being sick better than others, and some people just think they are dying a slow death if they catch the flu.

Speaking of… these funny memes about being sick are so spot on.

Work It

Working from home is great, but isn’t always as fun as people think. For instance, people probably think I’m living somewhat glamorously when I tell them I work for myself and work part-time from home. “Wow, that’s so cool you get to work from home,” people say. Yep. Sure. Putting up with a loud six-month long building renovation filled with sounds of constant drilling, nailing, and people yelling while trying to work is super cool. Or taking a quick nap to pass the time, so you don’t have to hang out with yourself alone longer than you have to. (Is that just me?) However, I must admit, I personally think working from home is very cool because I get to eat lunch while watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey, on the couch, wearing comfy clothes, shoes off, and hair up. Who’s with me?

Seriously though, working from home can be very nice and has plenty of advantages, but it’s also really awesome to interact with real human beings on a daily basis. Even if you don’t like going to work or care much for your co-workers, at least your workday can make for some pretty hilarious tweets. Check out these funny on-the-job tweets.
