We Can’t Stress This Enough
There aren’t a whole lot of people who can say they love their job, which is incredibly depressing seeing as we spend at least 1/2 of our lives at work.
And even if you love your job, you probably experience a fair amount of stress doing it. Whether you’re a divorce lawyer, a server, or a drug dealer, there has to be a certain level of stress in most aspects of your job. (Except for lunch breaks. There’s no reason you should be stressed on your lunch break. If you are, you’re doing it wrong.)
The thing is, stress is really hard on the body, physically and mentally. It raises blood pressure, causes insomnia, increases cortisol levels, and probably is the reason you have those unwanted wrinkles around your mouth and eyes.
If your job is creating unjustifiable amounts of stress, you may want to start looking for a new career. Here, Business Insider lists the 32 highest paying jobs for people who don’t have time for stress.
The bedroom is where all the magic happens, and by that, I’m talking about Feng Shui, not sex, you dirty birdy.
If your room isn’t all sorts of Feng Shuied up, then you’ve been bedrooming all wrong. Yeah, that’s right, you with the asymmetrical carpet design. Apparently, the layout of your bedroom directly affects your emotional health, so if you have been experiencing mood swings, trouble sleeping, or heart palpitations, it’s more than likely because your bed isn’t equal distance from the left dresser as it is with the right.
Now, I’m pretty sure this doesn’t count if you have kids because there ain’t no way anything in your house is balanced if you have kids. Or you’re a wizard. It’s one or the other.
The concept behind feng shui is that you need to experience homeostasis in your room in order to experience it in your soul. Everything is about balance (which, admittedly, makes sense because everything in life requires balance to function properly.)
I guess it all goes back to the old, Chinese adage “A lady in the streets but Feng Shui in the sheets.” (Seriously, get your mind out of the gutter!)
