We’re Just Ordinary People

The Nightcap

Nightcap for July 20th, 2018

Half Of My Heart Is In Cleveland

Whether you support #bluelivesmatter or think cops are just control freaks with an ax to grind, you are probably right.

Cops put their lives on the line for us every day, and if you can’t even respect THAT, you’re kind of a jerk. That being said, there are plenty of cops who are on ego-trips and just a TAD…. how do I put this… trigger-happy or racist?

When all is said and done, there are great cops, there are awful cops, and there are cops that have to make tough, last-minute decisions civilians will never truly comprehend. In other words, cops are just people; there will always be good eggs and bad eggs.

Obviously, cops are pretty busy patrolling the streets and dealing with people on bath salts (if you live in Florida). But they also have some downtime, too, which makes this music video particularly funny.

The Cleveland TN police department was clearly having a slow day when they redid the “Havana” video (I’m thinking we need more cops like this.)

I don’t even care if this is where my tax dollars are going. This spoof is brilliant!

Netflix and Not-So-Chill

Let’s face it: the days of good ol’ fashion network news and television shows are exiting the stage, along with conglomerates like Applebee’s, newspapers, and home phone-lines.

Sure, there will always be a demand for providers like Comcast because us humans can’t live without our precious WiFi (how the hell are we supposed to stream videos and porn without it?)

However, it looks like even Netflix is starting to plummet in stock. Why? It may just be a fluke, but the guess is that it has something to do with all the new smart TV apps that are surfacing. Before, Netflix was the only option for non-cable, non-syndicated television.

But now, thanks to Amazon TV, Hulu, and even Disney investing in its own streaming service, Netflix is facing some tough competition.

We’re guessing Netflix isn’t going anywhere soon, but if you have stock in the company, you may want to keep an eye on your portfolio, as its value plunged 14% in recent months.
