“Love is like an hourglass, with the heart filling up as the brain empties.” – Jules Renard
Are You In or Are You Out?
Trying to enjoy all the nice and convenient things in life while remaining true to your political stance and fundamental morale is nearly impossible.
It’s a lot like listening to your wasted friend cry on the bathroom floor with pizza in her mouth about how sad she is over her breakup. You WANT to care, but you just can’t after the hundredth time of this song-and-dance. It’s exhausting and hard to follow.
If I kept track of all the companies I was supposed to boycott because I didn’t agree with their religious, political, or economic position, I probably wouldn’t be able to leave my house.
Coffee shops, grocery stores, restaurant chains – kiss them all goodbye. Enjoy subsisting on water and pride, because you can’t join your friends for dinner at Applebee’s in your efforts to prove a point. (Actually, you probably should never eat at Applebee’s anyway, but it has nothing to do with their political stance).
Recently Democrats have demanded a boycott of In-and-Out Burger because apparently, they have no grasp on how important that fast food joint is to Californians. Here’s the story.
I can think of very few things that are less sexy than being herded onto an airplane cabin and then confined to a middle seat for a 3-hour flight.
Between all the screaming kids, people snoring and germ-infested air molecules you can just FEEL infiltrating your body, it’s pretty much the last place anybody wants to be.
Let’s put it this way – whoever said that life is about the journey, not the destination, has never flown Spirit.
However, according to this CNN article, 1 in 50 people meet the love of their life on an airplane. Perhaps that guy sitting next to you, taking up too much arm room, is actually your soul mate, so leave your judgment at the gate.
