Don’t Get Caught

The Nightcap

Nightcap for October 17th, 2018

APERITIF:

“If you have to lie, cheat, steal, obstruct and bully to get your point across, it must not be a point capable of surviving on its own merits.” Steven Weber

The Rock Test

It would appear as though the last few years have been characterized as the “era of sexual assault.” Between Bill Crosby, Bill O’Reilly, Matt Lauer, and now this Supreme Court judge — whose name I haven’t bothered to memorize – there have been a significant amount of allegations regarding men and sexual assault.

In reality, this isn’t a new thing. In fact, all of these sexual allegations have occurred over the span of DECADES. The only thing that is really new is that women are more empowered to actually talk about it.

Apparently, women not putting up with this bullshit anymore has men all over the world freaking out about how to act around women – particularly in the workplace.

Have no fear, gentlemen! There is a solution to accidentally putting yourself in precarious situations. By employing “The Rock Test” when dealing with women in the workplace, you can almost certainly avoid being thrown in the hot seat of your company’s HR department.

Honesty Isn’t Always The Best Policy

Remember in school when teachers would always tell you that cheaters never win? Yeah, that’s a load of crap.

People have been skating by (and often advancing) in life by cheating and stealing since the beginning of time. I’m not condoning it; I’m simply stating facts. From cheating on exams and taxes to cheating on each other, deception seems to come naturally to us humans.

And while many people get caught and penalized, or karmic retribution hits them hard, that isn’t always the case.

Here are 15 billion-dollar businesses and inventions that were supposedly stolen right out from underneath the inventor’s feet.
