“Will Generation X and the Millennials do a better job running the world than the boomers have? Let’s hope so.” – P. J. O’Rourke
Toddlers Are A**Holes
I call my three-year-old an a-hole at least 5x a day. Not to his face, of course – that would just be bad parenting. But I say it repeatedly under my breath, to my coworkers, with friends on a phone call… hell, if he’s having a tantrum at Target, I’ll lock eyes with the cashier and say, “Can I leave this asshole with you?”
Now, some of you reading this will be dismayed at my lack of sensitivity and my vulgarity, particularly toward a child. To which I’ll say, “F*** off. You clearly have never dealt with the maniacal, borderline-sadistic personality of a toddler.”
They’re like cats – super cute from afar but probably secretly plotting your demise. (If you love cats AND kids, then I managed to insult you twice. Yay, me!)
Don’t believe toddlers are a-holes? Wait til you read about what this 2-year-old did to his family’s savings, then get back to me.
Diabolical… I’m telling you.
There seems to be a weird competition between older and younger generations that have surfaced in the last decade which has really magnified itself in recent years.
Now, an older generation criticizing its youth is nothing new. You only need to look to the 60’s and the turbulent social climate between hippies and older conservatives to realize that some division is always to be expected – regardless of era or circumstances. With age comes a different way of looking at the world that isn’t always conducive to the mindset of younger generations.
Millennials and Generation Z kids get a LOT of crap from baby boomers – some of it warranted, but a lot of it not-so-much. Regardless of who is right or wrong, the vastly different ways these two groups broach life has created almost a competitive rivalry between the older people and younger people in this country.
This hysterical clip pokes fun at just how ridiculous this rivalry has gotten.
