The Novelty of “Pop-Up” Culture
American culture promotes originality, competition, and “one-upping” one another which can lead to some very interesting and unique activities. From Top Golf and Escape Rooms to museums, restaurants, bars, and dance clubs – this fiercely competitive environment is great news for us patrons.
But only for so long.
On the surface, each “new concept” appears to be one-of-a-kind, which naturally piques our interesting. Who doesn’t like to try new things? However, all of these businesses both rely on and share two common denominators – alcohol and our desire to unleash our inner child.
That’s why even the most basic of bars are now almost always littered with giant Jenga, Connect-4, and Cornhole – we love the nostalgic and whimsical feeling these childhood games evoke. (Plus, it gives us something to do when drinking then just stare at the Bartender’s bald head all night.)

Some of my best ideas came about when I was under the influence of alcohol. Conversely, some of my worst ideas did, too. And then there have been times where, what seemed like a brilliant idea at the time, proved to be not-so-smart once I sobered up.
Alcohol consumption is a great way to let down your guard, expand your creativity, and look at things from a different perspective or angle. Alcohol consumption is ALSO a great way to make you think showing up at your ex’s at three a.m., screaming 80’s song lyrics at her window, is a great way to get her back.
