“The secret to happiness is freedom… And the secret to freedom is courage.” – Thucydides
The PC Police
We are living in an era where our fear of hurting someone’s feelings are beginning to override our ability to speak honestly and freely.
While political correctness may be helpful in many ways it also makes it hard to communicate without the fear of saying something that could ruin one’s reputation.
The Kardashians are a perfect example of this problem. They are addicted to calling each other “retarded.” Each time they do this they are swamped with complaints about lacking sensitivity for those who suffer from mental challenges.
People are not upset about the actual conflict and drama in the show, but about the names they use to belittle each other.
In fact, Kim made the news again for using the r-word on Halloween.
What do you think? Are we a society caught up in being too polite?
The U.S. government has an interesting way of sticking its nose in everyone’s business and day-to-day affairs.
The government regulates almost everything that we do, and it places stipulations on everything else.
So then why is it that the regulations fail to protect children from being born into the world by two idiots?
Children are created so easily, which means that many people who shouldn’t have children often do. Maybe the government should use their control for good and prevent people like this from reproducing.
When a child can be born of two parents who are insensitive enough to lock the baby in one room, fail to change his diaper or feed him, and then allow maggots to eat away at his flesh…well, then you have two parents who should be forced to die the same way their baby did.
