Eggnog In Igloos
The restaurant and bar industry is incredibly competitive. In fact, only a small fraction of bars/restaurants/clubs make it past the 6-month hump – which is the general time frame these establishments are given to prove any kind of lasting power.
While the restaurant industry has always been highly competitive and volatile, it’s been increasingly so in recent years. Sure, plenty of experts blame the downfall of the food and beverage industry to the surge of low-paying millennials who simply can’t afford high-priced drinks and meals. And there is probably some truth to that.
But it also has to do with the fact that – after a while – all the lavish martinis and avocado toasts and fancy mac-and-cheese dishes start tasting the same. And restaurant owners know that, so they try to get patrons in by wowing them with unique and different dining “experiences.”
At this point in my life, I’ve been to enough bar establishments that not much impresses me. However, this one rooftop igloo-themed bar in Nashville has me itching to book a ticket their for the holidays.
We all do it…
You get home from a hard day at school, work or running around taking care of the kiddos. Your stressed and tired and just not ready to deal with anyone even your beloved family and friends.
So, you snap at their requests for attention.
You don’t mean to it’s just that you are already worn out from your daily routine or whatever struggles you may be personally facing.
Even people who are normally very nice tend to be rather difficult and complicated in close relationships. This shouldn’t surprise us. They are the ones you see after taking off the mask you show to the outside world.
Plus, there’s nothing harder than trying to live alongside another human for the long-term. We should try to understand how love makes us a little monstrous and find ways to not take our frustration out on the ones we love.
