The Nightcap

Nightcap for December 24th, 2018

“How beautiful the leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days.” – John Burroughs

School of Sarcasm

They say in life you should “fake it ’til you make it,” and while that’s HORRIBLE advice if you are a doctor or engineer — it holds some weight in certain professions and aspects of one’s life.

This is particularly true when you’re in school. Half the stuff you are taught will be eagerly absorbed and applicable later on in life. The other half, you probably could give two shits about and utilize whatever means possible just to get a passing grade.

In these hilarious cases, students decided cleverness and sarcasm was their most viable option. And, while they may not be getting a passing grade in that particular class, they certainly deserve an A+ for wit.

Texting Taboos

The invention of the text message certainly has its benefits. It’s great if you want to convey a message or pass among information that doesn’t require the whole pleasantries that an actual phone call does.

It’s also awesome if you aren’t in the mood to participate in a dialogue. Not in the mood to talk? Don’t particularly like the person texting you? Need to analyze the perfect response for an hour?

Boom! Text messaging has your back.

On the flip-side, it can cause a whole host of problems, misinterpretations, and anxiety. And this hilarious movie trailer mock-up perfectly captures the anxiety-inducing inner dialogue that happens
when someone you like doesn’t text you back right away.
