Coming To America’s Theaters
Many readers may have been too young to remember this, but one of the funniest and most iconic movies in cinematic history came out in 1988.
The movie was called, “Coming To America,” and it was Eddie Murphy’s breakout role about a Prince traveling to New York disguised as a “commoner” in an attempt to find true love.
If you haven’t seen the movie, have no fear! Eddie Murphy has been reported to return to his role as Akeem in the sequel of Coming To America – a fresh and updated version of the cult classic.

As a child, my parents used to fly my sister and me to Florida every summer for a family vacation. We would spend most of our time at the beach or in a hotel, barely having any real contact with the average Florida populous.
So, in my naive and optimistic child-brain, I always associated Florida with being a remote oasis – a land of paradise and pina coladas and beautiful people.
Now that I’ve lived here for a few years as an adult, my perception of the Sunshine State has changed, significantly.
Don’t get me wrong – there’s some wonderful things about Florida. However, if you aren’t 75 or into meth, there aren’t a whole lot of reasons I can see a person wanting to stay here for long.
