Stand-Up Sensation

Being a successful stand-up comic is quite possibly one of the most challenging jobs out there.

Ok, maybe that’s a grossly contrived statement. Neuroscientists, astrophysicists, and Special Forces have significantly more difficult careers that require more schooling. However, those jobs aren’t nearly as subjective as stand-up comedy.

To be successful at their craft, a comic has to A) remember about an hour worth of material B) be able to deliver it flawlessly C) be able to read that particular audience on that particular day and D) handle hecklers and disappointment with grace…all of which, are not easy to handle on their own terms, let alone, cumulatively.

But possibly the hardest part of standup comedy is allowing yourself to be vulnerable and honest. Every brilliant and famous comedian in history has one thing in common – he or she wasn’t afraid to expose their insecurities and inner conflicts.

Netflix sensation, Hannah Gadsby, is a pilar example of such raw emotion and talent and has quickly become an international hero because of it.

Worst Prank Ever

If ignorance is bliss, then stupidity must be completely joyous.

In probably one of the worst pranks in history, one young man dressed like a middle easterner and threw an empty backpack at people to see their reaction. Needless to say, when the guy throws the backpack and runs, people go absolutely nuts!

There are women who run away and leave their children behind, men who jump out of their cars, and people who completely clear a restaurant.

This may be funny to watch, but it makes us realize the fear that we have toward others who have been vilified by the media. We see someone dressed like a middle easterner and we assume they mean us harm.

The following video proves that we have hidden fears that become evident the moment we are placed in a situation that makes us feel we are threatened.

Ask yourself what you would do in this situation.
