A True Act Of Endearment

The Nightcap

Nightcap for February 6th, 2019

APERITIF:

“My husband calls me a ginger every single day of my life, so that I’m completely used to it, and I’ve come to see it as a term of endearment.” – Jayma Mays

When You’re In a Pickle

Listen up, boys! Valentines Day is right around the corner and that means you have less than two weeks to get your shit together and pull something amazing out of your ass.

Of course, you could go with the timeless “go-tos” like a bouquet of flowers or a fancy dinner or box of chocolates — or the million other cliche things we do on February 14th to prove our love and commitment to someone.

The only romantic gesture I would recommend staying clear of is rose petals on the bed. Whoever thought to put red flowers on linen and wood flooring clearly did not think that one through. Rose petals stain like a bitch, so unless you want to spend your Valentines cleaning – go with a candlelit dinner.

Looking to be unique? Wanna stand-out from all the proceeding lotharios your girl dated prior to you?

Here’s a creative spin on the traditional flower bouquet, but proceed with caution – it isn’t for everyone.

Going Rogue

Romance and love are defined and displayed in a multitude of ways and what works for one couple might not work for another.

I mean, just a few years ago, a couple held their wedding ceremony at their favorite local McDonalds and I’ll be damned if their enthusiasm wasn’t just as sincere as a couple that got married at a destination resort.

Whatever your “love style” is, most couples would agree that long-term romance is a combination of unwavering devotion and sincere acts of love.

So when a Minnesota man was arrested for breaking his terminally ill wife out of a retirement home – people had mixed feelings.

Duane Johnson (because OF COURSE that would be his name) busted his wife out of a care facility (allegedly upon her insistence) and some people are horrified at his willingness to put his spouse in such a perilous situation. Others found it to be a grandiose display of true love.

But it was more what happened AFTER the couple got home that have people both scratching their heads and laughing their butts off.
