Pants Off, Dance Off

The cult movie classic “Footloose” came out over 30 years ago and, if you haven’t seen it, the premise is about a high school kid (Kevin Bacon) who spends the entire film convincing other people how fun dancing is.

I mean this guy reeeeaaaalllly loves cutting up some serious rug… on tractors, train tracks, dive bars, football fields, fast-food drive-thrus. You name it, and he’s dancing on it. Bacon also has some weird obsession with wanting other people to dance to, which they respond to as if he was peddling crack rock or illegal firearms.

The plot line is cheesy as hell, but it’s still a great movie, mostly because… who doesn’t love dancing? Even the shyest, most conservative person will probably cut loose to some good tunes, provided you feed them enough tequila.

Simply put, dancing makes you happy and you don’t have to take my word for it. Science confirms this sentiment, based on this article out of Psychology Spot.

Real Talk for a second:

Planning a wedding is really hard work and, while most soon-to-be brides relish in this responsibility, their male counterparts usually want very little to do with the planning.

Why? Primarily, it’s because men just don’t care about things like flower arrangements and centerpieces and fondue fountains. It’s the same reason a bachelor’s apartment has no throw pillows or guest towels or decorative wall pieces. Men either don’t care or don’t notice or a combination of both.

But, if you are a bride-to-be and you’re not only trying to coordinate a unique wedding or bridal shower but also want your fiancée to be more involved – maybe take some pointers from this woman’s bridal shower.

Kayleigh Kill celebrated her engagement with a party directly inspired by the hit TV series “The Office.” Every detail paid homage to something out of a scene from the series, and the end result was both incredibly cute and incredibly original.

We’re not suggesting you base your bridal shower or your wedding off of The Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad (because – yikes!) But having a movie or TV-inspired wedding might engage your hubby more and entertain your guests in ways a typical wedding wouldn’t.
