Choose Love Not Hate

The Nightcap

Nightcap for 03/16/2019

APERITIF:

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. Audrey Hepburn

My Love Opened The Door

My dear old 70-year-old mother was down in SoFlo recently. (That’ s Southern Florida for all you people in the Midwest who never traveled out of the country).

One night, she had one too many wine spritzers and wanted to go dancing, so we took her out to look for live music. She managed to find the ONLY hidden club on a bar strip chock-full of lively pubs and restaurants and tried to enter.

The bouncer awkwardly stopped her. “Uh, ma’am, I don’t think you want to go in there.” My mom: (literally snapping her fingers to the music blasting from inside because apparently, that’s still how old people dance) “Sure I do. This looks great.”

Bouncer: “No ma’am. You don’t understand. This is a swingers’ club.” My mom: “Even better! I love swing music!” And that was the day we had to explain to dear old mom what “swinging” met.

On that fun note, here are stories of couples that actually tried open relationships and how things went down when they decided to go down with someone else.

Young People Promoting Hate

When it comes to the future of our nation, we all hope that things will progress for the better and provide us with opportunities to heal from old historic wounds. We leave this possibility in the hands of the younger generation so that we can see things from a fresh perspective, without judgment or tainting.

However, what happens when the young generation become the torch carriers for bigotry and hate? This is something to consider when we think about the future of our nation and the people in it.

In this video, you will see a teenage boy rant about Jews and Blacks. He attempts to provide information on how we will move forward without these two groups and how the nation will prosper, as a result. The unfortunate thing is that this young guy is probably a fan of selective sports figures who are Black and he no doubt likes music that he has no idea was produced by someone Black or Jewish.

The point is that he hopes to eradicate groups that are highly effective and productive in America. Groups who have, and are still, major contributors to society. Too bad this young man didn’t do a video on how to eradicate ignorance. See for yourself just how sad some young people can be when they are the product of ignorant parents who fail to teach their children respect and gratitude.

If we could only focus on the positives and what we have in common with other groups the world would be a better place.
