THC and Tummy Troubles

It’s 2019 and by now, most people are ok with the use of marijuana for medical or social purposes. Some studies go so far as to suggest one of the main components (CBD) in the plant is actually HEALTHY for you, as it binds to pain receptors, decreases inflammation, and helps with anxiety, PTSD, and insomnia.

Oh yeah, and it’s not physically addictive like opioids or meth. Win-win!

But because we can never have nice, enjoyable things – Colorado medical professionals have recently found an alarming rate of marijuana users coming to the ER with severe stomach pains. It’s become so common, in fact, that have officially named it “CHC” and can’t pinpoint its exact link to Marijuana. However, they have noted that it seems to occur more often in those who take edibles.

Until more research goes into identifying the exact cause and effect, there is no real reason to panic. However, if you are prone to stomach issues, you may want to lay off the edibles for now.

Here’s the 411 on 420.
