Bee Horny

I think we can all agree that Pornhub has been invaluable in making our lives… well… just a little easier and happier.

The ever-popular website has helped spearhead a movement for free, readily-available porn and has probably been the reason many teenage boys and lonely men are significantly less violent or angry towards his fellow man and woman.

Claiming the porn site is a “non-profit documentary series designed to raise awareness” is a bit of a stretch (unless “raising awareness” is a metaphor for something a bit more sinister).

However, Pornhub recently decided they were going to become crusaders in the fight against bee extinction and has recently come out with this gem of a series. Now, I think it’s great the producers are wielding their power and access to T&A for a greater good, but I have to wonder how many people yanking it at 3 in the morning are going to get the plea for environmental change…

Bots To The Rescue

No one would have thought that apps would become the next-generation of suicide hotline prevention centers, but it has.

Even, Facebook has developed an algorithm to identify the threat of injury when people write something on their Facebook wall or in messenger that indicates thoughts of suicidal ideation. People are tweeting, instant messaging and sending emails to their providers when they feel like they can’t go on.

It’s a good thing that people are talking and opening up about a problem like suicide which claims more than 139 lives a day in the United States alone. But,the sense of urgency to respond is time sensitive and the technology advancements are struggling to keep up with the need.

We now have technology that uses chatbots to follow up with patients on their mental health. When a person is noted to be at high risk for suicidal thinking. Bots will ask if the patient is okay, if they need any assistance, and encourage self-care.

In the future, AI hopes to be used to help diagnose and treat patients. Mental health costs the United States healthcare system $200 Billion dollars each year to treat; AI may be an answer that helps to reduce those costs in the near future.
