“Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humor to console him for what he is.” – Francis Bacon
Love Thy Neighbor
Those individuals who follow the Christian faith and who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior live a life of treating others as we would wish to be treated ourselves.
Unfortunately, there are jerks of every faith and demographic. Take those extremists who hurt the Christian religion by causing conflict and strife as they fight those who disagree with them. It makes perfect sense that some Christians can’t get along with nonbelievers, but what about those who dislike folk of the same faith?
Here, we have an opportunity to see what two Christians are like when they share the same space. One of the fellows in the video is actually a famous gospel singer named Kirk Franklin. He is crossing the street and finding himself immediately confronted by an extremist who can’t help but yell the gospel at him through a bull horn. The two confront one another and it isn’t very pretty.
We place a great deal of faith in our judges, police officers, lawyers (even though we hate them), and the legal system itself. We truly believe that there are people in place who will uphold the law and use it to assist in our right to be represented and protected. This sounds great, but the reality is that the legal system is run by human beings who aren’t always on the up and up.
There are instances of police officers who steal the money that they raided from a drug bust, there are lawyers who lie in court if it will assist in their winning a case, and there are judges who will manipulate the law in an effort to protect their family members. Don’t believe us? This video is our proof.
Here is a judge that is being hauled off to the slammer after she is found guilty for manipulation of the law in an effort to protect a family member. Rather than walk away with the bailiff with any dignity that she might have left, she decides to protest the decision of her being jailed by making her body go limp. Needless to say, she is literally dragged out of the courtroom by the bailiff.
In situations like this, it is always a matter of a person thinking they are above the law and much smarter than everybody else. Well, we guess this judge found out that she isn’t as smart as she thought she was.

Grief and Love in the Animal Kingdom
From mourning orcas to distressed elephants, biological anthropologist Barbara J. King has witnessed grief and love across the animal kingdom. In this eye-opening talk, she explains the evidence behind her belief that many animals experience complex emotions, and suggests ways all of us can treat them more ethically — including every time we eat. “Animals don’t grieve exactly like we do, but this doesn’t mean that their grief isn’t real,” she says. “It is real, and it’s searing, and we can see it if we choose.”
