Face tracking technology is all the rage in places like China. In fact, governments across the world are increasingly adopting this powerful, often flawed technology – which enables police to track you by your face. Kade Crockford, Director of the Technology for Liberty Program at the ACLU, explains that we can’t let that happen if we want to protect our free and open society.
Kade has made it her life’s work to write, researche, organize, lobby, and advocate to ensure privacy and civil liberties law keeps pace with new technologies. She focuses on how systems of surveillance and control impact, not just society in general, but also their primary targets: people of color, Muslims, immigrants, and dissidents.
